Rich Goodhart is an internationally recognized and respected world music multi-instrumentalist, composer, recording artist, gifted Master Shamanic Sound Healing practitioner, and core instructor on the Omega Institute faculty. He is a Qigong and Tai Chi instructor, authored two books, and has composed, produced, arranged, and engineered seven albums of progressive world music.
Goodhart has performed and collaborated with many highly regarded musicians, dancers, and writers, including Allen Ginsberg, Deepak Chopra, Jon Anderson of YES, Daevid Allen of GONG, Collin Walcott, Krishna Das, Joanne Shenandoah, Nawang Khechog, Steve Gorn, Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Paul Horn, John Bergamo, Mark Nauseef, Athena Burke, Gilli Smyth, Michael Harrison, Bill T. Jones, Russill Paul, John Perkins, Zola Dubnikova, Lanny Harrison-Walcott, Amy Fradon, John Ragusa, Shahram Shiva, and David Newman.
Goodhart’s newest album of shamanic sound medicine meditations is titled Forest River Pathway. Past albums include the Shaman Mirror Medicine Tree and Never Give a Sword to a Man Who Can’t Dance. Originally a keyboardist, he has studied with master musicians of Africa, India, the United States, and Indonesia. His second book of luminous invocations and sound healing essays is titled The Sound Inside the Sound.
